Background of The Business

A lead generation provider for insurance reached out to us and became a customer at the beginning of Jan. 2020, with a request to expand their online presence. They also wanted to get more orders online through their store.

The company also needed help with optimization of its web pages. They asked us to focus on target keywords and to produce high-quality content to increase engagements and sales.

We recommended our Managed SEO service to them to get all of these services in a dedicated campaign.

In-Depth Discovery & SEO Audit

Through in-depth discovery, we found some additional areas that needed some improvement (such as ordering forms) and the services that make them the most money.

Every campaign starts with a comprehensive audit of their website to know the opportunities that are there. The site was currently getting about 30 visitors a month. (Despite this low number, they were still pulling in good revenue numbers as most of their orders averaged $200+, coming to a total of 10K/mo in sales).

This, of course, was a good start, but it was apparent they needed some help.

Keyword Research - Identifying The Opportunities (Easy Wins)

Once we've completed the audit and in-depth discovery, we begin helping our client by looking for all the keywords they are already ranking for in positions 4 - 30 (meaning below the top 3 to the third page on search engine results).

We learned that the lead generation insurance provider had 43 easy wins that were also their money keywords - most with a pretty high keyword difficulty rating of 50+ and cost-per-click above $5.

There was potential here, but not without the help of SEO experts.

Outlining Their Competitive Gap Analysis

Before we launch a campaign, we always look at what your competitors are doing online. Is there anything they are doing well? How is their content? Is there anything we can do better to beat them?

All these are questions we ask for every campaign. We identify new opportunities with keywords that are relevant to our customer's business. For example, our client had 72 opportunities that their competitors were ranking for, but our customer was not.

That's website traffic that isn't coming to you!

We then added the relevant keywords to our list to include in the strategy. One way to start ranking for these opportunities is to write blog articles with these keywords as the topic and keyword focus.

Campaign Strategy & Execution

Now we're prepared to launch the campaign; our strategy focuses on some immediate improvements we could recommend on their website. In addition to that, we started with a little bit of link building and blog writing.

The first month looked like this:

The second month, and future months, focused more on link building and looked like this:

We adjust campaigns every month, depending on the client's needs, the SEO results, and research.

Regularly posting articles is an excellent way to let Google know you're an authority worth being ranked. Building backlinks to your website is one of the many powerful ways to boost your website rankings.

Plus, the consistent, high-quality content gave their site visitors reasons to come back over and over.

As you can see, their organic traffic increased. Now we know what you might be thinking. Their traffic didn't explode, and they only went up to about 100 visitors a month. The company's services are in a very competitive niche and narrow vertical, the keyword difficulty is very high and will take a lot of time to rank.

However, even with this increase, they could FEEL the results, and that's what matters. They were getting high-quality traffic and leads to their website.

They had no keywords ranking in the top positions before, but now, they have over 20+, and their keyword base is growing tremendously every day.
